Together with Sir Tim Berners-Lee (W3C/MIT, USA), Tom Heath (Talis Information Ltd, UK) and Michael Hausenblas (DERI, Irland), Christian Bizer organizied the 4th Linked Data on the Web Workshop (LDOW2011) at the 20th World Wide Web Conference (WWW2011) in Hyderabat, India.
The Web has developed into a global information space consisting not just of linked documents, but also of linked data. In 2010, we have seen significant growth in the size of the Web of Data, as well as in the number of communities contributing to its creation. In addition, there is intensive work on applications that consume Linked Data from the Web.
The focus of the scientific programme at LDOW2011 were Publishing Linked Data, Infrastrucutes and Architectures, Linked Data Applications, and Using the Web of Data as a Whole. In addition to the scientific programme, we had an open discussion about what has been reached so far concerning the realization of the Web of Data and what should be the research agenda for the upcoming year.
All papers and presentation slides from the workshop are available on the LDOW2011 website.
The workshop was attended by around 70 people. Photos from the workshop are found on flickr as well as below.
