Copy and print

You can use several multifunction printers (MFPs) (including one color printer) for copying and printing during the opening hours of the library.
Three MFPs are available in the copy room in the open stacks, another device is located at the entrance to the library.
For the use of MFPs, the MensaCard of the Studentenwerk Berlin is required as a means of payment, ie cashless payments.


Scanning is possible in the library with a Zeutschel overhead scanners in the copy room in the open stacks.
The scans can be stored on a USB stick or downloaded for printing on the print server.
Sending files through email or saving them to an external computer is not supported.
In future scanning will also be possible on the MFPs.
To scan, the MensaCard is also required for payment.

Buying and topping up the MensaCard

The MensaCard is available at the cash desks of cafeterias for a deposit of 1.55 euros. Cash-to-card machines to top up your MensaCard are located in the foyers. In the cafeterias you can top up your card at the counters. The MensaCard of the Studentenwerk is valid at several locations in Berlin (e.g. at the HU, TU, UdK, EHB), where the MFPs support the MensaCard.

Printing from ThinClients and notebooks

Printing from the ThinClients (research equipment in the library) and notebooks is possible. The print jobs are collected on the library system server and can be printed on the MFPs in the library (follow me-Print).

Print job are saved for about 3 days, so that a job from Friday can still be printed on Monday morning. The MensaCard is only charged when printing occurs.

Software for notebooks of users (printer drivers for various operating systems) is available from Ricoh for download free of charge (more to come):

Ricoh Service Point

In the Philological Library Ricoh offers a service point for further services such as digitization of documents, selling and reproduction of course materials (German: readers), binding services etc.
