For the writing of the bachelor’s thesis, working with English-language academic literature is required. Therefore, a good proficiency of the English language is expected for the application. A focus on marketing as well as strong grades in marketing courses are also desirable.

If there is a common overarching theme for all bachelor’s theses, no individual topics are assigned. In this case, a collaboration is therefore not possible. If there is no common overarching theme, a bachelor’s thesis in practical cooperation with the Marketing Department is generally possible. The prerequisite is that the thesis maintains a scientific character despite its practical focus. You are welcome to discuss this in detail with your assigned supervisor. Please also feel free to contact us in advance if you are considering the possibility of a practical cooperation.

At the beginning of the semester, all participants will take part in an introduction to academic writing. This session explains our expectations for a scientific thesis, how a thesis should be structured, and which formal criteria must be met. In addition, you will attend a library training session to learn how to use literature databases. Furthermore, various colloquia will be conducted, for example on creating an outline or a research proposal, where you will receive feedback and tips. During the writing process, your supervisor will be your primary contact, providing guidance and feedback. You can also schedule individual consultation appointments with them.

After completing your thesis, you must submit it in digital form to the Examination Office (not to the Marketing Department!). Further information on submitting final theses can be found on the Examination Office’s website.
