Background

Health data sharing is a key prerequisite for data-driven research and digital innovation in the German healthcare system. In recent years, various initiatives have emerged to enable data use and data provision at the national and institutional levels. However, these initiatives differ in terms of their objectives, governance, technical implementation, and access conditions. The aim of this thesis is to conduct a comparative analysis of selected health data-sharing initiatives in the German healthcare system based on approximately eight to ten expert interviews.
