Project on Healthcare Data Exchanges Started
News from Aug 24, 2016
The Department of Information Systems has again been successful in the 5th funding round of the Focus Area DynAge. The newly started project concerns data exchanges in healthcare. It is entitled “Incentives and disincentives for sharing frailty-related information in perioperative care based on an integrated IT approach”.
The project examines how information technology can support the compilation and processing of patient‐/surgery related data for frailty‐related risk identification and stratification. We analyze with whom are and should frailty‐related information be exchanged within the patient treatment process and what are the incentives and disincentives of these actors. To that end, the project focusses on perioperative care and is jointly conducted with the CharitéCenter for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine.
The project is led FU-wise by Dr. Daniel Fürstenau and Prof. Dr. Martin Gersch (both Department for Information Systems). The funding (Focus Area “DynAge“ – Excellence Initiative II) is provided by Freie Universität Berlin and Charité University Medicine Berlin. The project ends June 2017.
