International Macroeconomics part 1

Post-exam review
A post-exam review will be offered on Monday, 18th of March, 10:00 – 12:00, room 211a (Boltzmannstrasse). If you like to attend, please register with Mrs. Arlinghaus (cordula.arlinghaus@fu-berlin.de) before 14th of March .

Resit exam
Please note: The resit exam can only be graded if both parts of the course (Part 1 exam by Prof. Tornell and part 2 assignment by Prof Engler) are repeated.
The resit exam for part 1 will be held on Monday, 25th of March, 10.00 – 11.00, HS 102.
To make up for part 2, please get in contact with Prof. Engler to find a topic for the assignment (philipp.engler@fu-berlin.de). Topics will be announced via email at Tuesday, March 26th 2013. The assignments are due to Tuesday, April 23rd 2013. Prof. Engler will contact you regarding an oral examination (via Skype).

 

The lecture is part of the master of economics and master of public economics (LV:104084) and the economics diploma (41034).

Please note: This class can only be visited in combination with International Macroeconomics part 2, which will be hold by Prof. Engler during the second half of the semester.

 

Form of examination: There will be a midterm, an assignment and a presentation (more information below).

The midterm will take place on thursday, the 10.01.2013 from 12:30 - 13:30 Uhr im Hs 101.

 

Dates for part 2:

The assignments (~7-10 pages) are due to friday, 08.02.2013 and can be written in German or English. Participants can email three topics they are interested in (from the bibliography) to Prof. Philipp Engler. The final assignment of the topics will take place in december during part 1.

The presentations on the assignments will take place on Thu 21st of february and Friday, 22nd of february in the Kaminzimmer of Boltzmannstr. 20.

On Thu, 21st february, 12 - 16.30, presentations will be held of the following persons in the following order:

On Fri, 22nd february, 10 - 14,  presentations will be held of the following persons in the following order:
Catherine Kolb, David Beuth, Stefanie Nikel, John King, Lennard Hans Sievers, Rachelle Hajjar, Alexander Schulz, Rebecca Korth Ferraz Pereira


The presentations should be about 30 minutes long (20 minutes presentation, 10 minutes discussion).
