1. Erasmus

Freie Universität welcomes visiting scholars who receive short-term teaching contracts through the ERASMUS-Program. The basic prerequisite is that the two universities hold an up-to-date ERASMUS-Agreement that permits the exchange of scholars for teaching purposes.

The School of Business & Economics of the Freie Universität Berlin holds ERASMUS-Agreements about staff exchange with the following Universities:

Information regarding the conditions and financial and other matters for the preparation and carrying out of a short-term teaching assignment must be obtained from the central ERASMUS office of the country of the location of one's current university position. The financing of the teaching assignments of visiting scholars is covered solely through ERASMUS-funds of one's own university.

Content-related aspects of the teaching assignment must be coordinated with the subject coordinator in the individual departments or institutes of Freie Universität. It is advisable to take up this contact soon enough to include the courses taught by the visiting professor/instructor in the catalog of courses at Freie Universität.


2. Erasmus Mundus

Erasmus Mundus Programes offer students and scholars the possibility to come to Freie Universität Berlin.

In the past five years, numerous dedicated students and academics from China, India, South Africa, South East Asia, Egypt, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, the Balkans and the ACP-Countries took the chance to study or to conduct research at the Freie Universität Berlin.

Your advantages are: You'll receive a scholarship that covers monthly payments, travel costs and health insurance. We will provide airport-pickup and also assist you with finding an accommodation or opening a bank account. Furthermore.we will assist you dealing with different authorities such as the foreigners' registration office or the municipality.

Freie Universität Berlin offers new programes each year.

3. Other Partnerships

Freie Universitaet Berlin is well-regarded as a partner university and maintains over 130 partnerships with universities around the world. In addition Freie Universitaet has a good program for visiting professors and temporary teaching assignments. Each year many foreign scientists and scholars travel to Berlin to carry out research or teaching projects at Freie Universitaet Berlin.

Preparation of these projects occurs through direct contact between the foreign scholars and their colleagues in Berlin. At the request of the various departments and institutes, within the framework of the bilateral agreement, the Aussenamt of the International Office invites scientists and scholars from the partner universities for shorter or longer stays at Freie Universitaet Berlin.

4. Dahlem Research School

As the center for junior researchers, Dahlem Research School (DRS) has established an overarching framework for structured graduate education at Freie Universität Berlin. It supports outstanding junior researchers working on interdisciplinary research themes either within one of its doctoral degree programs or the DRS Postdoc Fellowship Program.

Enhancing quality graduate education Dahlem Research School provides research training and professional development opportunities to its researchers at every stage of their graduate careers.

5. More information

Through the International Guest Instructor Program, scientists and scholars from other universities come to Freie Universität for research visits, lectures, and workshops, thereby contributing to its high standard in research and teaching.

The Division of International Affairs advises organizers of symposia and congresses, and assists searches for residential accommodations.
