International Competitive Strategy
Students will be able to use the relevant concepts and methods to develop and implement a successful competitive strategy in international markets. They can analyze the competitive position of a company and identify starting points for shaping a lasting competitive advantage. They understand the change of competitive strategies over time and can design and implement the necessary adaptation processes.
In this module, students are familiarized with the tools for developing a competitive strategy. In particular, the following topics will be dealt with: First, the basic concepts of a competitive strategy are elaborated and the evolution of competitive strategies is analyzed and discussed. Subsequently, the students are familiarized with the instruments of strategic analysis. They will learn about the sources of a sustainable competitive advantage as well as the central challenges in implementing a competitive strategy. In addition, current issues of competitive strategy in international markets will be taught.
