Lukas Harder is a research associate and PhD student at the Chair of Empirical Economics and Gender at Freie Universität Berlin. He is part of the DFG-funded research project “Labour Market Transformation: Scarcity, Mismatch, and Policy”, working specifically on the subtopics of gender gaps in the labour market and labour supply of older workers.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Göttingen and his Master's degree in Public Economics from the Free University of Berlin. During and after his graduate studies, he gained practical experience in the political sphere, including positions in the German Bundestag, the Federal Ministry of Finance, and a public affairs consultancy.
His research interests lie in the field of empirical public economics, with a particular focus on labour market behaviour and the utilisation of skills, especially in relation to gender differences and retirement employment.
