6 - 8 September: Online Autumn "Retreat" 2021 of the Graduate Centre

The Graduate Centre of the School of Economics and Management Science is once again organising an Autumn Retreat for all doctoral students of the economics departments of the Berlin University Alliance from 6 - 8 September 2021. Two parallel two-day workshops will be offered, 

• Workshop 1: Crticial Reasoning and Logic with Kai Hüwelmeyer and
  
• Workshop 2: Teaching Methods and Lectures Design with Alexander von Reumont.

Further networking opportunities and information events are still to be announced. Due to the still unclear pandemic situation, the workshops on 7 and 8 September will take place online. The other offers for exchange among each other and information events will also initially be planned online and, if possible, switched to a in person format. Further information can be found here. Participation is free of charge, the only prerequisite for participation is admission to a doctorate in economics at one of the Berlin universities.

23 - 24 September: Online-Workshop "Good Scientific Practice"

Good standards of scientific practice are of increasing importance for the credibility and acceptance of science. On 23 and 24 September, there will be a two-day online workshop on "Good Scientific Practice" with Michael Mende. The workshop is a half-day from 9:00 to 13:00 and will bring you up to date on standards of good scientific practice. You can find more information about the workshop here. Participation is free of charge, the only prerequisite for participation is admission to a doctorate in economics at one of the Berlin universities. The Faculty has also compiled an overview of basic principles and resources for the area of good scientific practice on our website. 

11 October and 3 November: Online-Workshop "Wie geht gute Lehre?"

Many teachers ask themselves the question "How does good teaching actually work?" In this workshop you will explore this question together with Eva-Maria Schumacher. The workshop will take place on two separate dates so that, in the best case scenario, you can integrate the knowledge gained on the first workshop day directly into a lecture. On the second day, you will reflect on what you have learned and your experiences in implementing it. Further information can be found here. The workshop will be held in German. Participation is free of charge, the only prerequisite for participation is admission to a doctorate in economics at one of the Berlin universities.
