Vitae: Studies of Business Administration and Economics at the Ruhr-University of Bochum. 1991-1996: Research assistant at the chair of Marketing (Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Werner H. Engelhardt), doctoral thesis on the subject of “Cross-linked Relationships”. 1997-1999: Work experience as the leader of diverse international development projects with the Tengelmann Group, one of the biggest European retailers. 2000-2006: Founder and head of the Competence-Center E-Commerce and habilitation on “Flexibility Traps” at the Ruhr-University of Bochum. Received venia legendi for “Business Administration” and “Business Informatics”. 2007: Full professor of Business Administration and head of Competence Center E-Commerce at the Freie Universität Berlin. Guest professor at the University of New South Wales in Sydney (Australia) in 2003, as well as multiple university teaching positions at the universities of Duesseldorf, Cologne and Berlin.Key Research Areas: Management and economic theories, technology-driven change and transformation processes, selected problems of marketing and strategic management as well as information management, e-business and e-commerce, business model analysis, e-health, blended learning and learn service engineering.
