Vitae: Studies of Political Science and Economics at the Free University of Berlin (Diploma, 1969). Afterwards, Research Assistant at the Free University. Completion of doctorate in 1977 and habilitation in 1989. Professor at the Faculty of Political Science since 1997.

Since 1977, Academic Assistant at the Social Science Research Center Berlin; 1989 Deputy Director and 2000-2002 Director of the research unit “Regulation of Work”. Since 2003 Director of the working group “Knowledge, Production Systems and Work” in the research area Organizations and Knowledge. Realization of research projects under sole responsibility with international comparative approach, inc. “The question of the future of automobile production”, “The transfer of Japanese management styles”, “The reorganization of productive processes as well as sector and corporate governance”. Numerous publications in the area of labor politics, production organization and industrial relations.

Member of the editorial boards of “Managementforschung”, “Industry & Innovation” as well as the ”International Journal of Automotive Technology and Management“. Member of the German Association of Political Science (DVPW) and the “Groupe d’Etudes et de Recherches Permanent sur l’Industrie et les Salariés de l’Automobile“ (GERPISA).

Research interests: Industrial Policies, Work-related Policies, Production and Work Organization, Corporate Governance, Systems of Innovation and Employment Regulation.
