Vitae: Studies of Economics and Business Administration at the Free University Berlin. From 1976 to 1983 Research Assistant at the University of Oldenburg and completion of doctorate on the topic “Engineers of Life: On Criticism of Industrial Science”. Assistant Professorship at the University of Oldenburg from 1983 until 1990 with the research area “Human Resources, Organizational Groups, Organizational Culture”. Since 1990 Full Professor of Management at the Free University Berlin specializing in Human Resource Management.

Series editor of “Betriebliche Personalpolitik” at Gabler, editorial board member of the journal “Industrielle Beziehungen – The German Journal of Industrial Relations”, Member of the German “Association of University Professors of Management”, Member of the board of trustees of “Total E-Quality Deutschland e.V.”, and trust lecturer of the “Hans-Böckler-Stiftung”.

Research interests:
Gender Studies, Critical Management Studies, Studies in Equality of Treatment, Emotions in Organizations, Private Services, History of Human Resource Management, Supervisor & Employee Surveys.
