Vitae: Studies of Public Economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich; 1989 – 1994: Research Assistant at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich; doctoral thesis on ecological tax systems. 1994 – 1995: Visiting Lecturer at the University of Essex, Great-Britain. 1995 – 2000: Research Assistant at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich; habilitation on tax reform and profit sharing. 2000 – 2001: Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Western Ontario,Canada; 2001 – 2007: Professor of Public Economics with a focus on Public Finance at the Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg. Since 2007: Professor of International Public Economics at Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2008: Research Professor at the Ifo-Institute Dresden.
