Professor of Management at the Free University Berlin.
Vitae: Studies of Business Administration; afterwards, Assistant Professor at the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, doctoral thesis and habilitation. Between 1985 and 1986 Professor of Controlling at the University of Bamberg, between 1986 and 1994 Holder of the Chair of Business Administration, Department of Organization and Planning at the Correspondence Teaching University “FernUniversitaet” of Hagen. Afterwards, Professor of Management at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the Free University Berlin.
More than 130 publications in the field of management. Co-editor of “Managementforschung” and member of the editorial boards of different international journals. Vice-Chairman of EGOS (European Group of Organizational Studies). Presently: Chairman of the Association of University Professors of Management (Verband der Hochschullehrer für Betriebswirtschaft e.V.).
In addition, projects in practice and work as an expert referee.
Research interests: Dynamic Competencies, Path Dependence and Knowledge Management.
