Seminar on managerial accounting

 

Learning Objectives

The seminar is on current research questions in the field of managerial accounting and corporate governance. Students are supposed to analyze and discuss certain topics in the field of managerial accounting and corporate governance. This has to be done by thoroughly and carefully addressing the relevant literature. One important outcome is the seminar thesis. Students are supposed to present their results and discuss other seminar topics.

Content

The focus of the seminar is on current topics in the field of managerial accounting and corporate governance. These can be conceptual issues, such as issues on operative or strategic managerial accounting, performance measurement or divisional controlling. It can be also case studies well based on theory and applied to real world problems. In order to attend the seminar, students should have completed the course "Performance measurement and incentives".
