Professur für Personalpolitik

Professor of Human Resource Management and Labor Politics

Welcome to the web pages of the Professor of Human Resource Management and Labor Politics (“Personalpolitik”) at the Department of Management, Freie Universität Berlin.  Here you can find information about Professor Gregory Jackson PhD, our team, research projects and publications, and current teaching.

Our research and teaching aims to understand how employment and work are shaped by different organizational and institutional environments with a particular focus on corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and corporate misconduct.  Our work is inspired by a cross-nationally comparative perspective, a focus on the role of institutions, and interdisciplinary social science that draws insights from economic sociology and political economy.  The German term “Personalpolitik” nicely captures this idea of human resource management as being embedded in a wider field of social relations, and shaped by the pluralistic context of competition, conflict, coalitions, and creativity among diverse ideas and interests.
