We would like to introduce you to our School. On this site you can find facts and figures that represent us.
1. Students
A total of 2469 students are currently studying in our School – 1398 in the area of business administration and 923 in economics.
Foreign students
Around 22 percent of all students in our School come from abroad.
2. Teachers and employees
39 professors teach and conduct research in our School, including assistent professors. They are supported by 72 scientific employees. In addition, a total of 30 staff employees and 80 student assistent work in the School in administration and for the professors. All employees of our School support you in your way through your studies.
3. Departments
The School of Business & Economics consists of five department sections.
Four departments belong to business administration: the Dept. of Finance, Accounting, Taxation and Supplements (FACTs), the Management Department, the Marketing Department, and the Dept. of Information Systems.
There is the Department of Economics. In addition, the Deutsche Bundesbank endowed chair, created in 1987, is affiliated with the division of Economics.
4. Applicants
The Department of Economics at the FU only admitted applicants for the Bachelor’s and Master's degree for the Wintersemester 2022-2023. Here you can find the number of applicants per student opening.

7. Third-party funding situation
Here you can find a compilation of the amount of external financing for projects within the School of Business & Economics at the FU Berlin. Third-party financing is funding that does not come from state money made available by the responsible ministry for higher education, and that is raised by the professors of a department for particular research projects. The foremost large external providers of funding are the German Research Foundation (DFG) and other foundations, but funding is also received from businesses in the private sector.

The School of Business & Economics distinguishes itself in externally financed research through an extremely large number of projects that are financially supported by renowned German sponsors of research with strict expert review procedures, some through the German Research Foundation (DFG) – the largest and most important provider of external financing in the country.
