As a continuation of the very successful EXIST project "Entrepreneurial Network University (ENU)", which was funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology over five years, a new center for entrepreneurship research and teaching is being created at the Department of Information Systems of the School of Business and Economics at Freie Universität: The Digital Entrepreneurship Hub (DEH) will merge entrepreneurship-related activities of various departments and at the same time form an interface for external cooperation. In an interview with Campus.Leben, Hannes Rothe, assistant professor for Educational Service Engineering and IT Entrepreneurship introduces the DEH and shares his view on the current need for more digital entrepreneurs. The interview is in German: https://www.fu-berlin.de/campusleben/anwenden/2018/20180605-Digital-Entrepreneurship-Hub/
The DEH was initiated by Professors Martin Gersch and Hannes Rothe as well as Dr. Janina Sundermeier. At the Department of Information Systems, the two scientists themselves offer events on entrepreneurship. In addition, there are numerous interdisciplinary courses for different target groups (Bachelor, Master, PhD) that sensitize and qualify students for entrepreneurial thinking and acting. With a teaching and exchange platform (startup.byCoKit), the team also supports entrepreneurship educators from other faculties and universities: They can compile teaching and learning material for their own lectures and seminars from existing modules.
The DEH makes existing research projects related to entrepreneurship visible and accessible.
DEH is officially founded at the "Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften" on June 9th 2018 at 6 pm. Lectures, panel discussions and exhibitions show the work of DEH. All interested parties are cordially invited: https://www.fu-berlin.de/sites/langenacht/programm/recht_wirtschaft/wirtschaftsinformatik
